Surviving the Future

February 2.-14.
10.00-18.00
AMFI, Free entrance

In a precarious present, artists investigate and re-map the outlines of our geographical, political and social environment. Inventive artistic strategies are applied towards issues such as intelligence, climate change, or political heritage.
Kristin Tårnesvik addresses propaganda, fear and stereotypical world views. Katarina Pirak contemplates the cartographic potential of a political Sámi nation. Geir Tore Holm juxtaposes geological and astronomical time to industrial time, attending to environmental exploitation and economical shortsightedness. Rosa Barba and Liselotte Wajstedt both articulate the complex stratifications of both the history and the future of the northern city of Kiruna, in the midst of its process of reinventing itself.
